Getting around Franklin Park
The roads, the rails, the runways.
Franklin Park is wired for freight and travel, and that's exactly what makes it a charter-friendly village.
The roads. Mannheim Road (US-12/45) runs the eastern edge and feeds straight into O'Hare and the expressways. Grand Avenue cuts across the village past the industrial parks, with Belmont, Franklin and 25th Avenue filling the grid. From any of them you're quick to I-294 (Tri-State), I-190 into O'Hare, and I-90 (Kennedy).
The rails. The Franklin Park Metra station on the Milwaukee District West line runs to Union Station downtown, and freight rail threads the whole village. The Metra is fine for a solo commute — but for a crew with luggage, an early flight, or a late return, a door-to-door coach beats the schedule and the freight delays.
The runways. O'Hare (ORD) is right next door — minutes up Mannheim or River Road, which is why corporate and crew airport shuttles are our busiest service here. Midway (MDW) runs the I-294 line. Both come with live flight tracking and built-in buffers for the corridor.
